Dr. Christine deLange is a
psychotherapist specializing in children, adolescents and families. Her areas of expertise are anxiety and mood disorders, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, conduct and social problems, low self-esteem, attachment and adjustment issues, and issues of child abuse and neglect. Dr. deLange is an experienced child therapist, who has worked with children as young as three years old.
In addition, Dr. deLange has extensive experience in addictive process and eating disorders. She has 18 years of direct clinical experience in both residential and outpatient treatment of families impacted by substance abuse, domestic violence, and child abuse. She has special knowledge and experience with support groups such as Twelve Step recovery, eating disorder recovery, and women in leadership. Dr. deLange has post-graduate training Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavior Therapy, Play Therapy, Active Parenting, and Relationship Therapy.
Dr. deLange holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and Integrated Studies from Union Institute & University, a Specialist degree in humanistic/clinical psychology and education from Michigan School of Professional Psychology. She also holds a Masters degree is in Special Education, Early Childhood Development from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor's Degree from Michigan State University in Communication and Education.
Prior to focusing her career on full-time clinical psychology, Dr. deLange worked for twenty years with organizations advocating for children and women physically, emotionally, and sexually abused. Dr. deLange has served as a local advocate for parents and children. She was a founding member of an Oakland County task force that established an annual parent education conference in partnership with community organizations and business. Her work has been recognized on both the local and national level. Her research on behalf of children of battered women has been published and distributed nationally.
